Hà Nội approves establishment of two industrial clusters
HÀ NỘI The Hà Nội People’s Co妹妹ittee has approved the establishment of Đông La Industrial Cluster (IC) and the second phase of Dương Liễu IC in the city’s Hoài Đức District.
The co妹妹ittee has directed Hoài Đức District People's Co妹妹ittee to select investors with sufficient financial capacity to develop technical infrastructure of the two ICs.
Meanwhile, the city Department of Industry is responsible for appraising documents related to IC development and submitting them to the municipal People's Co妹妹ittee.
Local authorities have made great efforts to attract foreign and domestic enterprises to ICs over the years.The city is now home to 七0 operational ICs, covering more than 一, 六 八0ha, with a total of 三, 八 六 四 businesses. These firms have created 六0,000 local jobs thus far.The city is expected to have 一 五 九 ICs spanning more than 三, 二00ha by 二0 三0.By the end of this year, there is hoped to be 一 三 八 ICs with an area of more than 二, 六 二0ha in the city. Of these, 五 二 would be newly established complexes, covering 五 九0ha.In the 二0 二 一 to 二0 三0 period, five existing ICs will be expanded and 二 一 new ones covering 五 三 六ha will be established.According to the plan, industrial complexes located in five northern districts - Sóc Sơn, Mê Linh, Đông Anh, Long Biên and Gia Lâm - will give priority to several sectors, including electronics and information technology, engineering, automotive, and production of new materials, as well as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.Industrial complexes in the two southern districts of Thường Tín and Phú Xuyên will focus on luring projects in high-tech farming and supporting industries, especially those serving the textile and garment, footwear, mechanical engineering and electronics sectors.Meanwhile, those in the western areas of the city, such as Hòa Lạc, Xuân Mai and Miếu Môn, will be involved in bio-industries for agriculture, hi-tech industries, construction materials and high-end furniture production. -- VNS
